We tend to waste our whole lives listening to what people think and feel about us that we never get to know the real us.

The bad mistakes you make in life does not need to define you as there is always room for change, if that is what we desire most.

Too many people give up on becoming a better version of themselves because they allow people to have too much power over them.

You are the author of your own story, and the ink does not run dry until you cease to exist.

There is no one on this earth that can access your mind and become conscious of every second of your thoughts and feelings. You are alone with that hence why people attend therapy sessions to talk through some of these issues.

The only person who knows you more than anyone in this world is you.

Let us discuss this further….

If the above phrase is the case … we must re-educate ourselves to rediscover our inner self.

EXAMPLE: Looking deep within ourselves.

In practice we must separate ourselves from any outside influences and go forward with a blank slate.

I sat down one day and thought to myself:

If I look deep down inside myself. What do I really believe about my inner self?

I created a list of the negative and the positive thoughts that I have always felt. I dissected them into separate groups to determine which ones applied to my true self and eliminated anything that was somebody else’s opinion of me.

After a lot of deliberation, the list of dislikes was exceedingly small, and my positives were things I had never took much notice of.

I allowed myself to be governed by what others had said and allowed this to shape my life even though it was never my truth.

I tool back my power and now no one is ever going to be able to convince me that I need them to live my life. I have my independence and I can think for myself and make my own decisions.

I can say NO regardless to whatever guilt trip they try to send me on.

We allow people to manipulate us, they want to keep us in line so we will never grow spiritually or mentally, they will always have power and control over us and the decisions we make.

I see this as mental slavery in the sense that you are never going to move forward until you recognise yourself as an independent individual who does not need to be controlled. Only then can you take back the power that you have given them.

It is incredibly sad that some people are not mentally and emotionally free because they have been made to believe that they are incapable of deciding for themselves. They have been brainwashed to believe that they need this other person in their life, or they will be unhappy and alone.

Unfortunately, some people will never wake up to the fact, and when the other person moves on, they are left feeling like they are nobodies.

I must add that being dependent on others it is not always a terrible thing, but only if that person has your best interests at heart. That is where the balance is.

In everything there must be a balance.
