Can you imagine being admitted to hospital, frightened and not been able to have a loved one by your side to hold your hand, to comfort you through the transition of dying, whether it be from Covid or any other illness or trauma????
I know that I would feel devastated if it had been a family member, to not of given them comfort in their last days or hours. Horrendous…traumatic..
This is something that was hardly spoken about during the pandemic when there was total lockdown , the physical, emotional and mental state that this has left on just people in general.
We know the medical professionals have worked very hard and suffered I have no doubt that they were traumatised by what they were seeing but we must not forget the trauma it has caused the individual people.
The fear and isolation, the not knowing?
The cancer patients who have had their treatment put on hold?
The people who suffer from Mental Illness who can no longer seek counsel on a one to one basis ?
The Mental Health Services under pressure as the Suicide Rate increases.
People who cannot make next month’s rent because they lost their jobs and may have to lose their homes?
The stress of the lack of education our children were not getting.?
There are many more examples that have made us feel that we have been failed by the system, of course we have been because they are people and are not immune.
“We can no longer hide away from the virus we have to learn to live with it or we will miss out on what is important to us.”
The purpose of life is to live, iisolation is just existing.
We must not become complacent and deliberate by putting people at risk because of our bad habits.
The basic instructions we were given about the practice of hygiene should of been second nature to us.
Simple rules, use a tissue to cough or sneeze, wash your hands regularly after using the toilet and when you get home and before handling food.
What happens when the next pandemic arrives will we be putting our lives on hold again? We have to go about our lives and learn to live with it.
Picture this — how many years of our lives do we have left to just EXIST when do we begin to LIVE?
THINK ON THIS
What was the most IMPORTANT thing that you would of loved to of done but could not do due to restrictions?
It would be interesting to know what is really IMPORTANT?
