BEING A PERFECTIONIST!!

A person who refuses to accept any standard short of perfection:

What is your definition of perfection? Is it more of the outward appearance than the inner self?

Answer: It can be both.

If someone asks me to do a task, I will give 100% or will not bother to do the job at all.

When I first started working there was an exceedingly high set of standards of professionalism.

There was a policy that you were groomed and dressed appropriately and that you spoke well and presented yourself politely and respectfully.

Having a laid-back attitude was not acceptable like that of which I have experienced in a lot of the services that I use today. Employees had to be on the ball and able to resolve a query effectively and satisfactory.

I have noticed a lot of spelling errors in utility letters that I received in the post. I am surprised that they had been approved.

I admire someone who does a thorough job when it comes to cleaning, repairing, and servicing. The worst worker is a sloppy one who does things by half measures.

If you are enthusiastic about your work, you would make sure that you did it efficiently.

When a contractor comes to my home to do a service, I can guarantee that they will leave it as clean as they found it. By engaging with them I get the best results.

I believe that most visitors who come into a clean home are more likely to respect it whereas an untidy place they would not feel the need to bother.

I come from a family where I was brought up to respect and take pride in my appearance. I remember as a child we were always immaculate and clean.

I grew up to be conscious of my hygiene, appearance and would never have a hair out of place. This showed that I not only thought of how I could affect others but the respect I had for myself.

I do not class myself as a perfectionist, I just see my habits as the basic standards of living for the individual human being.

If I am asked to take on a job, I will see it through to the end. I am dependable and will keep a client updated. I would not take on a job that I was unable to do.

We must be careful not to allow our idea of perfection to border on to obsession as it can become dangerously unhealthy.

There are people who feel under pressure to have the perfect face and physique even going into debt to have painful procedures to live up to the latest fad.

That is when ‘perfectionism’ becomes more of an addiction which can lead to delusion.

There comes a time when you must accept that you can no longer afford to keep up the ‘plumped up’ lips and fat freezing procedures amongst others.

People also spend their money on trying to fight the aging process and whilst there is nothing wrong with this, but it is going to be a lifetime commitment.

The truth is that it can begin to get out of control once you have crossed that line, as time goes by you will never become less satisfied with the way you look. The only contentment you will find is continuously surgery.

We must be mindful of how we view perfection in any parts of our lives as it can lead to our own destruction.

Perfectionism is not a problem until it controls you to the point of obsession.

In everything there must be a balance.
